You know who's cool? The March Hare. From Alice in Wonderland. Is very cool. Heh. No, I won't explain, 'cause I'm lazy.
And, because
shanalle said so...
1. what fandoms do you participate in? Currently? Lotrips, mainly, with a dash of LotR FPS and X-Men.
2. what was your first fandom? The X-Files. Oy.
3. what fandom are you *so* over? See above. Awesome show, hideously bad fic. Embarrassing, really. And I don't think I'll ever go back to Rentfic, either -- too much angst and junk.
4. what is your favorite fandom? favorite pairing? Lotrips, still, and still Domlijah. Pity me, friends.
5. what would you rather poke your eyes out with spikey hot flaming daggers than read? what pairing in particular? Most Merry/Pippin fic out there makes me nauseous, which is sad, because they'd be my favorite FPS pairing otherwise. In Lotrips, I won't touch Viggorli with a ten-foot pole.
6. what do you reeeeeeally wish someone would write (ahem, write *well*, that is)? RotK or post-RotK Merry/Pippin. It's been done ad nauseum, yes, but well? Only a couple of times.
7. complete this sentence: if i see [name/character] in a story, i simply won't read it. With rare exceptions - Karl Urban, Craig Parker, Marton Csokas. I'm sure there are awesome fics about 'em, but I have no interest whatsoever.
8. secret story kink? Not-too-mushy first kisses. Some kink, right? Seriously, though, the early stages of relationships fascinate me.
9. complete this sentence: if i read [fill in the blank] in the warnings, i simply won't read it. In RPS, character death. Just. No. And rapefic is almost always avoided. I'm not much into BDSM, either, although there are a few writers I'll trust with it.
10. what pairing will you read no matter who writes it? what pairing will you avoid like the black death? I'll always read Dorli - not my OTP, but there are surprisingly few bad Dorlis. I'm a sucker for Domlijah, of course, but I've learned to avoid certain authors. And my black-death pairing would be Viggorli, natch.
11. complete this sentence: i really wish [person] would write [pairing/fandom] fic. Hmm. This is tough. I guess
lux__aeterna and Domlijah, because her Dom/Billy is the hottest thing ever.
12. what story made you cry like a little girl? Ugh. This is embarrassing. It wasn't even a slashfic, really. Baylor's I Always Know You. Gen Merry-Pippin. When I go back to it now, I'm not nearly as impressed, but at the time...
13. what story makes you hothothot? There are a few. Buffett's Fucked series and
juweldom's Slightly Crooked series come to mind, but there are lots of shorter fics by a wide variety of authors that make me go GUH.
14. what is your comfort fic? you know, the one that always makes you feel squishy when you're feeling low. Mmm.
gabbyhope's Smile and
bunniebugs's It's In His Kiss are my feelgood crack of choice.
15. what would you like to take a shot at writing? Smut, for chrissakes. ::glares at the perpetually unfinished Iceman/Pyro/Rogue fic on her hard drive::
In other news, have given myself a Summer Project. Because I spent much of last summer writing the Fic From Hell (TM), which in retrospect wasn't all that great, but remains the closest thing to an epic I've ever written. So, now that my writing skills are slightly less craptastic, I have determined to spend much of this summer writing...well, some kind of epic. Except not really. But. Yes. Summer Projects. I highly recommend them. Just, 'cause, y'know, why not? ::nods firmly::

Date: 2003-05-28 08:28 pm (UTC)Really? I'm so flattered! *snogs you into next week*
And I won't ask you why the March Hare in particular, because as far as I'm concerned, just about anything from the Alice books is cool.

Date: 2003-05-28 08:44 pm (UTC)And, March Hare? Ehm. Long story. But, yes, Alice characters are all zany and strange and wonderful...

Date: 2003-05-29 06:06 am (UTC)Hmm...
I'm gonna have to remember that one. Do I have to pay royalties if I use it in a fic? *grins* That sounds like SUCH a Dom thing to say! *giggles*

Date: 2003-05-29 06:12 am (UTC)Oh hell... I really need to get you the next parts of Overwhelmed then *giggles*. Umm... I'll shoot part 2 off to you as soon as I finish commenting here! It's ready for a look-see anyway.
OK, sorry - I know I could have combined these comments but, I got sidetracked by "craptastic," and didn't read behind the cut until after I commented! *smirk*

Date: 2003-05-29 08:25 pm (UTC)...or did you already? 'Cause if you did, it means AOHell ate yet another piece of incoming e-mail (which it's been doing sporadically of late), and. Um. Yes. Haven't gotten it yet. But please send when you're ready, part 1 was quite good (despite my, er, voluminous comments...).
Re:
Date: 2003-05-29 09:57 pm (UTC)Umm, yeah, I sent the fic already, I'll do it again, from work, in the morning.
Thanks again.
