it's a magical world

I have written more fics than is entirely healthy, given that it literally took me all evening to recode them all for the new site. But I have succeeded at last. Now I just need to figure out how to access the FTP server for the new site. *pokes angstslashhope*

I meant to get some actual writing done tonight. So much for that. But still, this was something that needed doing, so at least I've been suitably productive.

Apart from rehearsal and doing laundry, I've basically spent the entire day teaching myself CSS in order to completely redesign my website. Wow, this is kind of trippy. And shiny. And occasionally frustrating (why do you not support normal footers, oh otherwise wise and benevolent CSS?).

I should probably not actually do the entire website tonight, though. Due to my previous lack of ability with CSS, adding it to the entire site (which has how many separate pages for individual fics now?) means recoding every. single. page. Which is why I'm adding in CSS in the first place, of course, so that next time I decide to do a complete design overhaul, I won't have to recode everything. Hopefully.

Speaking of which, the whole impetus for this in the first place is that I'm moving from dombillijah.com over to its sister site, oscillating.net. Once I finish my complete overhaul, that is. And not that anyone will really notice except me.

dombillijah.com is back! Which means I can reupload my website! Which I've spent all day recoding!

...of course, this depends on my FTP program actually connecting to the webhost, which it doesn't seem to want to do. *prods* Well, there will be a return of the kaydee-site sometime in the near future, anyway. *prods FTP again*

lasciatemi cantare updated, at long last. That took me more than two hours. Oy. This is why not being able to update my website from Ireland was a very bad thing -- everything piled up like whoa.

Have given the site a major facelift. I mean, I gave it a major facelift a couple of weeks ago, but those were just the main pages. Now I've gone back and recoded every. single. fic.

I wrote way too many Lotrips fics, back in the day. I miss being that prolific, but after going through each and every one of them, I kinda wish I had written less. Gah.

Updated my website with fic and iconses, and made a slight but meaningful renovation to the "fics" page that required me to learn a new and exciting html tag. So there.

Ye olde website has moved over from rosiesamfrodo.com to dombillijah.com. Oh, my god, I had to change the link urls on every bloody page. That took far too long.

So. Yes. If, by some bizarre lapse in logic, you've got my site bookmarked, please change the link accordingly. Danke bitte.

Because angstslashhope is the gratest person ever and gave me webspace, I now have website! All of my fics are on there! Yay! I'm still nervous about my webspace-eating icons, though, so my twelve billion icons have not been uploaded yet. But! Website! Whee!

Wow. That actually took me the better part of eight hours to make. Probably because I was teaching myself html as I went along.

I just spent over an hour revamping the site instead of writing either of my AP Hell papers, didn't I? Oops. That probably wasn't very smart...

So here I was, all happy and shit about having FINALLY found free webspace that is picture-friendly, and perfectly willing to tolerate the not-nearly-enough MBs they allowed me. Then today I get a friendly little e-mail informing that I've violated the terms of service by linking my happy .jpgs to an illegal (by which I mean "not recognized by them") other internet service, being my LJ, and therefore they will delete my account in seven days unless I get a paid account.

Fuck. I might actually have to fork over the cash this time.
