Man, I'd forgotten how much fun Wordles are.
This is the wordle for my Rose!fic, Life in Technicolor: ( cut for image )
So pretty!
And bonus wordle for the as-yet-untitled, certainly unfinished, extraordinarily plotty sequel, which is nominally Rose/Doctor (with Martha and added Torchwood crossover) but I'm over 5000 words into the thing and the Doctor has yet to make an appearance, the sneaky bastard: ( cut for image, again )

stuff and things
Oct. 19th, 2008 02:13 pm![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
I actually feel like I got enough sleep last night, for the first time in a while. I really, really don't want to have to go into work tomorrow, unsurprisingly. Weekends need to last longer than two days. Especially given how most of MY weekends only actually last one day.
Slightly ambitious plan of the day: finish writing my Two Lines fic. If only because I'm not gonna have much time to work on it this week, and I need to make sure I leave enough time to get it to beta and back before the deadline. (Not that Two Lines deadlines are all that rigid, seriously, I almost ALWAYS post these things a month or so late. But not this time!) Weirdly, what I thought would be a fairly short post-Doomsday fic is already 19 pages long. Probably I have about five more pages to write. It's not epic by any stretch of the imagination, but still. I blame Jack Harkness, who just had to stick his pretty face in, despite the whole parallel universe business. Jeez.
Perchance I shall get a haircut today as well. It's about that time. And I told my housemate I'd bake her a carrot cake, as per her birthday request, though I'm heartily wishing she'd requested just about any other sort of baked good, because I do NOT feel like investing time in grating carrots all afternoon. I like baking because it DOESN'T feel like proper cooking to me. Once you make me grate carrots, that's proper cooking, and I disapprove. Plus now I have to buy a grater. Bah.
medical question
Aug. 10th, 2008 08:47 pmI don't know what search term to use to look this up for myself. It's for a fic. You know how when doctors need to look at X-rays and suchlike, they stick them up on a sort of white wall that's really one big light, to see the scan properly? What on earth is that called? A light wall? They do this in House all the time, I've seen it on the X-Files before, I'm sure every medical drama known to man has featured it. It must have a real name.

cookies are love
Mar. 28th, 2008 01:26 pmThis is just to say, Mrs. Fields Cookie Cups are happiness in dessert form. It's a cupcake, except with cookie instead of cake. And it is made of win.
This is not a recent discovery of mine, but every time I give in to temptation and buy one, it makes my world a happier place. Despite a really awkward night yesterday and not enough sleep and being at work and having a show to stage manage tonight. Pure. Happiness.

gooey chocolatey joy
Mar. 8th, 2008 12:41 pmToday is the birthday of one of my actors, so I got up early to make brownies.
These are some TASTY brownies I have here. Also, rather appallingly gooey, which made transferring them from the pan to the tupperware containers rather interesting. They're not undercooked, so I'm not sure what's up with that. Maybe I should have let them cool longer before trying to cut them up? Anyway, they're mighty tasty. They just kinda fall apart easily. Which, you know, fills your mouth with soft melty chocolatey goodness, so I can't really complain.
My actors had better appreciate my devotion, is all I'm saying.

I love fall. And today is the absolute perfect fall day in Chicago -- sun shining, bluest sky you've ever seen, air crisp, trees all gold and red and brown. Plus, many small children are trick-or-treating down Broadway, which is beyond adorable. Apparently princess is still the hot ticket for girls and assorted superheroes for boys, but there were some really inventive costumes on display as well. Oh, to be small and able to consume massive amounts of free candy again.
positivity
Oct. 24th, 2007 02:16 pmI need to learn how to focus on the positive aspects of my life rather than the negative. Because really, my life isn't exactly awful. Boring, yes, but boring is very doable. So I shall post about happy things whenever possible.
Happy things so far today: interview went well, I'm pretty sure I am now a member of this temp agency, although dunno how long it'll take to process the paperwork and find a placement for me. But there is gainful employment in my future, and maybe I'll be able to break completely free financially from my parents this year. Also, I totally aced the Word and Excel tests I had to take. Bow down to my l33t computer skillz.
And yesterday I managed to write 550 words of the YA fantasy, which pushes me that much farther through the slow zone. Now I need to get my protagonist into fun kinds of trouble. That's today's project.

Today was heralded by the arrival of some very important and long-awaiting things: bookcases (small, alas, but a good start), a big squishy comfy chair of awesome, and my Battlestar Galactica DVDs.
It is a good day.
Now that all the furniture is sorted, I can actually figure out where to put up my posters and such, and then there shall be apartment!photospam.

victory is mine
Sep. 12th, 2007 11:49 pmI have conquered the microwave at last, through the cunning strategy of pushing buttons at random until it did what I wanted. It's still rather counterintuitive, especially for someone raised on microwaves that actually worked sensibly, but I have defeated it, and it now must do my bidding. Another day, another important life skill mastered.
photo meme
Jan. 31st, 2007 10:09 pmThis one looks interesting...
Ask me to take pictures of any aspect of my life that you're interested in or curious about. It can be anything from my favorite shirt to my cell phone. Leave your requests as a comment to this entry, and I'll snap the pictures and post them as soon as I can.
Just about anything is fair game here. I recently recharged the batteries in my digital camera (for the first time in, like, six months), and I'd like to use it again. *winning smile*

it's that time of year again, americans
Nov. 7th, 2006 03:17 pmWell, I voted today. Did you?
Granted, one more Democratic vote in my extremely Democratic county probably isn't much to brag about. Still. One more drop added to the flood, I guess. Can't hurt.
In geeky theater news, OMG Anne Bogart and Mary Zimmerman are speaking in my university's theater this afternoon. *fans self*

Neither my first name nor my last name are all that unusual, so this is rather nifty. Only seven of us?
In other news, I am CRAP at answering comments. Oy. I love you all, you know that, right?
So apparently, I shouldn't reread Good Omens whilst waiting for Sims2 to load, because it gives me Notions.
Notions involving me CLEARLY needing sims versions of the Them.
And, y'know, what with the Them still being kids an' all, the game requires me to provide parents.
And CLEARLY the only suitable game!parents for the Them are Aziraphale and Crowley.
And then I got somewhat trigger-happy with the snapshot function.
( it's all part of that ineffable plan, somehow )

Mar. 7th, 2006 05:52 pmDrunk!Jake is possibly the funniest thing EVAR. OMG I so want to go out drinking with him now.
Argh, it's 6am and I'm still too wired from the Oscars to sleep. So I'm amusing myself by browsing through the IMDB Brokeback Mountain discussion threads and reporting all the "HA HA GOD HATES FAGS" posts to the administrators. There are quite a few. It's depressing.

Feb. 2nd, 2006 07:02 pmThis is one of the funniest damn things I've seen in a long time. It's a mock preview for "Brokeback to the Future". WATCH EET.
