Betas and bis

I beta-ed my first fic today. That is, it was the first fic not written by me that I beta-ed. This make any sense? Yes? Good. The author sent out a beta request on Closer_Than_Brothers, and I was bored so I bit. It was an interesting experience for me. For one, how to be nitpicky about grammar-type-stuff without sounding like a bitch. And constructive criticism. Very interesting. It's a very cute fic, btw -- when she posts it, I'll prob'ly pimp it.

On another note -- squee! I finally got a hold of that old friend of mine, and we talked on the phone for about an hour and a half! (This is big for me -- I have phone phobia.) Oh, wow, he's the coolest, and he hasn't changed a BIT. Must get together with him over the summer. Oh, and about an hour into the conversation, he says, "Uh, there's something I want to tell you..." etc, and it turns out he's bi and has a boyfriend. I was very enthusiastically supportive... images of Dom and Lij started bouncing around in my head... yes. Happy now. Not gonna be able to sleep for hours, oh no not me...

I should probably do some more work on the fic from hell that's been sitting in my documents folder glaring at me...back, fic! Down, slash, down! Bad slash!
