Beach Bum and such

Spent the day being a beach bum. Did not get sunburned this time -- yay, sunscreen. Yes. Beach. Waves. Fun. Boogie boarding is way too amusing. Also, started that Merry/Pippin fic I couldn't write until finishing the Fic From Heck. Ah, freedom.

Downsides of beach: jellyfish & crabs. The jellyfish were not the harmful, stinging kind, which is good because they were floating all over the place. I grabbed one by mistake, thinking it was part of the rope-thingy attaching me to the boogie board. Yes, kaydee is VERY glad these jellyfish weren't the stinging kind. The fucking crabs, however, thought my foot was some sort of exotic fish. The bastards actually sliced into my toe and foot. Beh. Walking around with a cut on the bottom of your foot isn't fun.

Yup, it's that time of the week.

What are you most looking forward to in The Two Towers?
I'm looking forward to Wounded!Merry-and-Pippin-vs.-orcs, Treebeard, and Gollum. Among many other things. Now that Merry and Pip are separated from the others, I hope they'll start to move from backup hobbits to real characters in their own right. Also, when they interact with only each other, their personalities should become more individualized and distinct (although I know the real test will be in RotK). Treebeard -- hey, I'm curious! How are they gonna handle him? And Gollum is just a fascinating little guy, and I can't wait to see him interact with Frodo and Sam.

Which character (new or continuing) do you particularly want to see in a prominent role?
Well, aside from the aforementioned Merry-Pippin-Treebeard-Gollum.... Hmmm. Grima. And Gollum. Damn, I really want to see a lot of Gollum. We loves our Gollumses, doesn't we, precious?

Have you heard anything that makes you think you might have a problem with the film?
Originally, I was a bit upset by the lack of Shelob, but now I'm just very curious to see how they end it. I'm sure I'll like whatever ending PJ devises. ::hopes:: And my biggest problem with TTT is going to be Arwen's extended role. Man, I am not looking forward to those scenes. And this whole OC-Morwen business also makes me nervous.
