Okay. It is September 15. This means two things:

1. Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] andraste_oz! Hope it's splendiferous and Dom-filled!

2. Dude. Whoever has me for [livejournal.com profile] ccfp, please tell me what fic you're reviewing. Ya lazy bastard. *grins*

Y'know, the ONE dropout of the Lotrips Remix back in April was the one who had to remix my fic. It would be so typical if the one CCFP dropout was the person who was supposed to review my stuff. Is there something horribly wrong with my fics that makes screwing around with them so hard to do?

Edit: literally ten minutes after posting this, I checked my e-mail and found one from my CCFP reviewer. Ask and ye shall receive, eh? Coolness.

I always have about twelve WIPs hanging around my writing folder. Most are fics I've long since given up on, but am unwilling to admit defeat and just delete the buggers. These sit around and collect dust and don't really bother me. I open 'em up every couple of months, amuse myself reading them, and wonder why I never finished them. Then I close them and ignore them again.

But I also have three WIPs that I really truly want to finish. One is a series of Pirates drabbles that I've given myself a very specific deadline on, and as long as I add a drabble every day or so, I'll be fine. This is reasonable. I can handle this.

Then there are the two WIPs of Doom, being, respectively, the Orlijah of Doom and the Historical AU of Doom. This has always been my problem with longass fics: I know where I want them to go and what I want them to do, even have full scenes planned out in my head, but then when I start to write I get a few (five or eight) pages in and panic. Like, how the hell am I gonna sustain this story for as long as it needs to be? Too much. Too big. Why can't I just stick to nice, short, 10-page-max fics? Or nice little [livejournal.com profile] contrelamontre 60-minute ficcies?
