there's a reason i'm called kaydee FALLS...

So today in Shakespeare class, I was rehearsing this scene from King John, for which we built a sort of throne out of cubes -- think a cube on a platform of cubes. In the middle of the scene, I get off the throne. Except I apparently stepped too close to the edge of the lowest cube, because the thing flipped over and the floor was suddenly rushing up to meet me. It was a magnificent fall. Many comic actors would kill to fall so spectacularly. Being clumsy by nature, I've perfected the art of falling flat on my face and then jumping right back up to my feet -- more like bouncing dramatically off the floor than just plain falling. I think someone in my class applauded it. "I'm okay!" I chirped brightly, then excused myself to my scene partner and hobbled to the bathroom, where I could screech in agony without anyone else noticing.

OW OW OW OW OW.

It took a couple of hours, but at least my entire leg isn't throbbing anymore. However, I have a massive upraised welt all up and down my thigh that's going to bruise beautifully by tomorrow, and since it stretches practically from knee to ass, it's rather painful for me to walk OR sit. The funny thing is, I can't even figure out how I landed in such a way as to cause this -- it happened too fast, and I was back up immediately.

Someday, I shall perfect the art of the pratfall such that I don't actually injure myself. Today was not that day. Ow.

Two things. First of all, for all you Sims 2 players out there, is there any way (cheat code?) to change the name of a family? Because James Potter just married Lily Evans, and they are now the happy Evans family, and um. Like. It's cool that guys can take the woman's name, but Harry Evans? Does not have quite the right ring to it. (I realize that it happened because I was playing Lily when they got married, but they were both living in the POTTER household at the time, so I didn't notice for a while.)

In other news, I'm apparently going to be writing my B.A. paper next quarter. O_O Er. I should mention that I'm a second-year of a normal four-year college, with no intentions of graduating early. But my major program just changed its B.A. requirement, because they used to require a B.A. paper and project fourth year. Now, the project is still fourth year, but the paper -- which is supposed to provide the "theoretical basis" for the project -- is the final paper for a mandatory course that all Theater majors are required to take in the spring of their third year. The course was already a requirement, so the only real change is that its final paper now counts as our B.A. But since I'm going abroad for all of my third year, I have to take that course this Spring. Which means I'll be writing my B.A. paper at the end of my second year of college.

Which is kinda scary, but kinda cool...
