driveby post

Just a quick post from one of the school computer rooms. Apparently, there's a whole process I have to go through with IS Services here in order to connect my laptop to the network. Would have been nice for them to, say, TELL us this, instead of waiting for us to figure it out on our own. According to the website I have to register at, it could take 3-5 DAYS for my request to go through the system. So I may not actually be able to access the internet from my room for almost a WEEK.

SO much hatred of bureaucracies. Christ. Back at my home university, you just have to plug the damn cord into the wall.

I think I'm the only Jew in Ireland. Aside from the occasional tourist.
