feh of a ficcish nature.

My Two Lines fic, it is Teh Suck. It just isn't working for me. I'm sort of resisting finishing it, because then I will be forced to actually send it off to a beta who will doubtless tell me that it is Teh Suck. Apparantly, I am incapable of writing Draco. Like, at all. There's a reason my HP fics are all about the Marauders. I grok the Marauders. I like them. They make sense to me. They interest me. But while HBP finally made me interested in Draco as a character, I just can't get a hold of him in this fic. He is BORING in this fic. That's tragic.

I'm tempted to just scrap it all and start over, but 1) I only have five days until the deadline and 2) Draco's really the only character in any of my fandoms who seems to fit the lyrics I've been assigned. Well, Harry could, in a way, but I have absolutely zero interest in writing about Harry. Rowling writes Harry. The books are all about Harry. We are told all of what Harry does and thinks. I have no interest in taking him on as a character, except in the background or through someone's else's perspective. So. Draco. Yes.

Damn it all, it's not even a Draco/Harry, although it was supposed to be. No, all of my Two Lines fics are doomed to be gen. And now my fic is stuck in Draco's perspective and not particularly impressed by what it finds there.

Urg. Help.
