netflix is my new best friend

You know, even "bad" West Wing is still better than about 95% of the television shows out there. (I'm on the second disc of season 5, for the record -- "Separation of Powers".)

I'm just saying, it's not as snappy or brilliant as the first four seasons, and some of the editing and storylines are a bit wonky, but even the crappy episodes are eminently watchable, and the better episodes aren't easily distinguishable from the Sorkin-era stuff. Nothing like "Two Cathedrals", sure, but that's still some quality television.

Hee. That scene was fun to write.

I'm actually making steady progress on my Firefly Crossover Of Doom. Current status: of seven sections, three are complete, one is nearly there, one is about half done, and two are still only fragments. Plus the prologue and epilogue, both of which are basically set, minus some fine-tuning. I'm at 15 pages in Word, about 5600 words. But most importantly, I just finished the section that I thought was going to be by far the hardest for me to write, so! Much triumph there.

Just so you know, I'm basically crossing Firefly with eight -- count 'em, EIGHT -- other fandoms. Yeah, I'm out of my fucking mind. It's more a series of connected ficlets than one absurdly complicated multiverse, but still.

And ASIDE from that, I also currently have a Firefly/West Wing fic (Zoe as secret service agent in Bartlet White House) and a Firefly/BSG fic (which is going to be fucking EPIC and I'm kinda scared to even mention it) in the works. I don't know what the hell is up with that, as I usually stick to one fandom at a time. Apparently my Yuletide fic this past year unleashed a tide of crossoverness within me. It's fucked up. Also way, way too much fun. :D
