kaydeefalls: shocked posner looking up at grinning scripps (posner/scripps)
Happy New Year! May 2013 be vastly more awesome and happy-making than 2012 for all and sundry. I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow.

So, Yuletide reveals, etc. Here was mine:

Fandom: History Boys (2006), History Boys - Bennett
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Relationships: David Posner/Donald Scripps
Characters: Donald Scripps, David Posner, Stuart Dakin, Adil Akthar, Peter Rudge
Summary: "Right," Dakin said. "It's time we finally relieved you of the terrible burden of your virginity."

This is now my third History Boys Yuletide (though not in a row, thankfully); furthermore, Scripps/Posner continues to be my OTP to end all others in this fandom. (And speaking of which, I just learned that in 2011, Samuel Barnett and Jamie Parker did Rosencrantz & Guildenstern together on the West End, and god DAMN there's another production I need to steal a TARDIS to go back and see.) Remind me next year that no really, I'm not allowed to offer this fandom for Yuletide anymore. But repetition aside, I do love this fandom and these boys to bits, and it was lovely to revisit them again. And the prompt was specifically for Scripps's introspection on his religious beliefs and homosexuality, and reconciling the two (and the struggle therein), which was a challenge for me as a very non-spiritual person to write. And also I think I fundamentally disagree with the idea that, for Scripps, his spirituality in any way conflicts with his feelings about sexuality -- he's by far the most openly accepting of Posner in the source, and his objections to Dakin's burgeoning interest in Irwin have everything to do with the fact that Irwin's their TEACHER and not so much with the fact that they're both dudes. So I did my best to explore that from Scripps POV. Well, I enjoyed writing it, at least, though my recipient is still AWOL (and seems to have defaulted from Yuletide in general, so I feel slightly less bad about her lack of response).
