get in the car, angel.
Jun. 7th, 2019 04:46 pmThe Good Omens miniseries is my fannish happy place right now. I loved it so much. I've loved the book since I first read it in high school (and have reread it many times), and this adaptation just makes me so freaking happy I can't even. It is imperfect, like all adaptations, but I have zero interest in nitpicking the imperfections because I just want to bask in the glory that is Aziraphale and Crowley's flawless queer relationship of absolute joy and delight forever. (I am content with any and all interpretations of it, since angels & demons are functionally agender and quite possibly asexual, but no matter how you swing it, their love is queer as fuck and it is glorious.)
Also, I was quite fond of the Them, and Anathema's unapologetic weirdness, and all the Horsemen but particularly nonbinary Pollution, and of course Frances McDormand is God, and just...everything. JOY AND DELIGHT FOREVER.
Never really got into the GO fandom, because for me the book is borderline perfect and I've never needed anything further, but I've been dipping my toe into reading GO fic now and it's a lovely passing fancy. I've just had such complicated relationships with my current fandoms lately (Endgame was such emotional whiplash, in particular, between the stuff I LOVED and the stuff I HATED, but also Game of Thrones going out on such a shitty season that retroactively soured me on the books, too) that it's nice to have something that brings me such pure, uncomplicated joy. ♥
