It's, like, a ghost that wants to be able to do all the cool vampire stuff. Or maybe it's a vampire that has no interest in sucking blood and wants to vanish into thin air from time to time. For the love of mythology, make up your freaking mind!

Maybe it's like one of those Japanese spirits that are just that, but have sort of vampire qualities, like the way they can suck the life out of their victims. I'm not really clear on the details, though.

Maybe you could devise your own creature... monster... thing.

I think it's decided to be a ghost. Just following its own laws of existence and abilities and whatnot, instead of the usual poltergeist folklore. Ah, well.
