well, i've lugged that brick of a book twice into town to try to give it back to the pal who lent it to me, with no luck so far (at the giving-back) so it's still doorstopping my door, which may be a sign.
i'll give it another go, because i really want to like it, and if you say it gets better... it wasn't that i wasn't enticed, but it just seemed to take so long to do everything.
thanks for the encouragement, i'll read it with a nice picture of you in my mind (as i break my little fingers holding it up in bed).
