Torrents aren't something you play. ;) They're just meta files. You need to open your .torrent files into a BT program (like Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/)). The .torrent itself only contains information about where the file is located, who is sharing it, etc. Azereus then logs into the networks and, using the information from the .torrent, connects you to other users who are sharing the file. Then you download a video/music/etc.
Depending on what type of video it is, you might need various codecs to play them. Videos on .torrent networks are usually encoded with XviD (http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/), unless specified (for instance, a lot of "iPod format" videos have been released recently).
