Huh. The Oscar nominations are very...interesting this year. I dunno, I was surprised by a few of them. Like Jake Gyllenhaal for Best Supporting Actor. I mean, I LOVE me some Jake, but I really didn't expect that. Interesting.

Okay, now you all need to help me, because I haven't missed watching the Oscars since I was, like, ten, and the thought that I'll probably miss them this year makes me INCREDIBLY SAD. Like, I wouldn't have minded missing last year's, which were boring and I hadn't seen more than two or three of the major films and hadn't liked any of them much anyway. But this year, there's Brokeback Mountain and Capote and other coolness up for multiple awards, and I WANNA SEE. But I'm in Ireland. And I have no TV. Does anyone know if there's some sort of live internet feed, or something, so that I can get my Oscar fix? I don't just want to read a list of the winners; I want to WATCH the damn things, and make fun of people's outfits, and be amused by Jon Stewart's monologues, and all that jazz.

I didn't get to watch it last year, either, and I thought I would DIE as a result. I mean, it's bad enough that it would have began at, like, one in the morning in the UK, but it wasn't even showing on regular, basic cable, which is all my friends had. It was terrible. *nods* Any access to Sky or something like it in IRE?
