Took me a while to get around to watching the House season finale, what with finals and all, but I made sure to fully spoil myself for it in preparation. There was so much doomsday talk!
I know full well that I am one of a very tiny minority here, but I liked this season finale. Way better than the S2 finale, that's for damn sure. I mean, there wasn't enough Wilson, but that's par for the course, really, so whatever.
I know the three fellows will all be back, since the actors have all renewed their contracts, but honestly? I'm kind of fine with them leaving. I love Chase, I (usually) am a big Foreman fan (honestly, this resignation arc has been the first time I've started DISliking him, mainly because I think his stated reason for leaving is bullshit), and I occasionally tolerate Cameron. But it is TIME for them to move on. The fellowships were only supposed to last, what, three years? And we know Chase was there a year before S1 even started. They really ought to get out of there and move on with their careers -- Chase in particular, who is very much ready for it, as the past season (and his attitude in this ep, which was perfect and mature and wonderful) has been showing us. I mean, I know it would be ridiculous for the show to scrap half the cast, but in terms of the actual story, the fellows should move on. Really. Plus, if they could bring back those three students from "Three Stories"? I would be ALL OVER THAT.
But, yeah, those characters will in fact be back next season, so I suppose this is all moot. I do hope their roles change somewhat, though, although I don't know how. They're ready to grow up and get major positions of their own in the hospital, as attendings at the very least. I really hope they don't just come back as underlings again.
