Falling in love with a new fandom is such a fabulous thing!! Being a fan brings all kinds of fun times, but that stage of head-over-heels love is my favorite.
One thing I've come to understand, though -- I could never be with someone who didn't understand and accept my fannishness.
Yes - this is so important to me, though I couldn't have articulated this way back when I met mr. semi. I was still unaware of fandom and fanfiction, but had always had fannish interests - and so had he. So mr. semi didn't think I was wasting time or being anti-intellectual because I was reading a Star Trek: Next Generation novel when we met, and I was happy to watch (and rewatch) his favorite monster movies with him. We're compatible in many ways, and while some are probably more important, his understanding of my fannishness is not insignificant.
