making a start

Today I spent a few hours canvassing in Virginia for Barack Obama and Mark Warner. I've never done anything for any sort of political campaign before in my life, and I get really nervous about striking up conversations for strangers, so I'm doubly proud of myself now.
I mean, it wasn't much, but everyone has to start somewhere, right? And every little helps. I have to believe that. That's what's brought Obama so far already. I don't have the money to donate, but if I have the time, I'll give it. And now that I've gotten over the First Time hurdle, it'll be easier. That was kinda fun! Except for the one belligerent Republican. He was not so fun. Ah, well.
