I'm plowing on through S4 of Doctor Who. SO MUCH AWESOME. This season seriously brings the awesome back -- no offense, S3, but you seem to be the weakest series. Although Martha's theme will probably always be my favorite piece of music.

Okay, though, seriously, I thought Rose was meant to be the jeopardy-friendly companion, but Martha definitely wins for most jeopardy-friendly EX-companion. Every episode of anything she turns up in after her stint with the Doctor, she gets kidnapped and strapped down to something, I swear. Torchwood, Who, no difference -- look, it's Martha, let's abduct her! At least her character's personal level of awesome has risen since she got over her crush on the Doctor.

Also? I very nearly died laughing at the "Are you my mummy?" line in "The Poison Sky". NEARLY DIED. Ninth Doctor continuity for the win! (And yes, Rose, I saw you there on that monitor for .005 seconds, you sneaky, sneaky girl.)

I like Jenny -- or, at least, I like the potential that exists in Jenny. I hope she pops back up at some point -- not in this series, according to imdb, but she's clearly out there, and it'd be fun to run across her again. Especially with, say, the Eleventh Doctor instead. I like a good mindfuck.

I hear there are giant wasps in the next episode. I'm seriously considering giving it a miss. I HATE wasps.

ETA: Okay, fine, the wasp episode was really excellent, but can we please declare a moratorium on GIANT STINGING INSECTS from here on out? Thank you. Incidentally, I really wish I hadn't been spoiled for "Journey's End" Donna, because I love her to bits and the end of "The Unicorn and the Wasp" is FUCKING depressing, given the spoilers. Wah.

DON'T skip "The Unicorn and the Wasp." It's probably my favorite episode of S4. The whole thing is fantastic. There is one particular scene that's so funny that it really ought not to be watched unless you have someone with first aid training on hand in case of laughter-related breathing problems.

I'd never noticed it before, but you raise an excellent point about Martha. She spent a year walking the occupied Earth without getting caught, but since taking up with UNIT she seems to have an "ABDUCT ME" sign taped onto her back.
