I don't do recs very often, but this, everyone needs to go read. Torchwood/Merlin crossover that works like you wouldn't believe, and manages to stay absolutely in character for all parties involved, and, just, YES: Once and Future, by 10leaguesbeyond. Her summary: Four times Merlin Emrys met Jack Harkness (and one time he met Jack Harkness). I'm not sure how much sense it'll make if you don't know Torchwood, because god knows Jack's personal timeline is confusing enough even for Whoniverse fans, but it's absolutely brilliant. (And I think it absolutely works if you're a TW fan who doesn't watch Merlin -- as long as you know the basics of Arthurian legend, you're fine, though obviously this particular characterization comes from the BBC version of it.)

Just read it, now. And flail at the sheer brilliance of it all.

Thank you so much for this rec! I probably wouldn't have seen this on my own, and even if I had I wouldn't have read it since I don't watch Merlin (yet). Once I read, however, I totally adored. That was utterly fantastic.
