I love so much the complicated time-traveler-falling-in-love conceit that they can lose someone and still go on to meet them again and again until they die themselves. It's really too bad we don't die like that in real life. You'd get it out of the way, and then you could spend the rest of your life knowing you'd already lost them, so you would never have to lose them again. And then just focus on being alive with them.
