I've finally had a breakthrough on the Eames&Arthur fic I've been poking at! I figured out what was wrong with it and how to completely overhaul the structure to make it work, and suddenly it makes SENSE as a story. Which is of the good. Of course, now I have to rewrite a lot of what I have, and I can also see how much more I have left to go (WHICH IS A LOT), so this is still no guarantee that it will ever be finished. With my luck, the fandom will have died by then. Oh, well. Also, it is not a cute fluffy Arthur/Eames snugglefest, which means no one will read it anyway. (Look, this is not a judgment thing. To each her own. But most fanon A/E feels WILDLY OOC to me, and it kind of drives me up a wall. It doesn't bother me in AU fics, but in the universe of the film? These are NOT NICE PEOPLE OKAY, they are essentially mind rapists. I love them to bits, but they are not exactly warm and fuzzy, y'know?)

None of which has anything to do with Yuletide, which is due in a week and for which I have approximately NOTHING. Ugh. Lately I've been unable to come up with fic ideas that aren't sprawling plotty epics, and I have to keep reminding myself that this only needs to be a thousand words. Now if I could just come up with an idea that would be a complete fic that short...

AUGH YULETIDE. I keep telling myself, if I defaulted, the pinch hitter would be starting from scratch and producing a complete fic by deadline. So clearly I am capable of starting from scratch right now and producing a complete fic by deadline. Right?
