I have been having similar thoughts myself. I had neve read RPS before joining this fandom, now I cannot imagine not having it. And Star Wars and HP don't really interest me much. I think LOTR is a unique film (and I think of it as one), in that the cast lived the ideal, embraced the idea of it so wholeheartedly and gelled so beautifully, and I don't think that will ever be found in that form ever again.
But if I thought that in 18 months time I would have lost track of you all, (and have no domlijah or Frodo and Big Men to read) then I think I would just start crying now.
I love this fandom, love all of you and as long as you can put up with me I am here to stay.
