Okay, so if I, um, fail to show up at my 5-hour rehearsal tomorrow in favor of going to trivetmonger's graduation party, how much will they kill me?

In other words, I need a really good excuse for skipping out of rehearsal about three hours early. Help a sister out here.

okay, so you are about 2 and a half hours into your rehersal, and you get a phone call (do you have a cell phone? nm) and turns out.... you have only a few hours to save the world and you need to leave right away! superkaydee!

It's so crazy, it just might work! ...except first they'd kill me for leaving my cell on during rehearsal, so I'd never actually get to use the excuse. Bah. It sounded good, though...

oh, i had another idea! you can pretend that you are just getting a large shipment of imaginary crack, and had to be home to sign the delivery man's clipboard.

How about "my friend from out of state is coming, and I need to pick her up at the airport"? I've tried that one, and it works. *nods*

Or the age-old: "My *insert family member here* is sick and I promised *insert another family member here* that I'd look after *family member A* while *family member B* was absent". Er, okay that's not really age-old but it should work.

You need to be present at a hit for your mob boss--if you're not, you get whacked and so does whoever kept you from attending. The hit is at 2:00 in Queens and significant difficulty in escaping is required--you won't be back today.
