Y'know, the problem with being in the Cubs town is that I can never watch the games that actually matter to me. Which kinda sucks, because most of the fun of supporting your team is watching their games.
Instead, I have to visit yankees.com on a regular basis. It really sucks all the enjoyment out of rooting for them, since all I see are the final scores, two nice little numbers. I want to cheer them on! Thrill over every hit! Bemoan every run the other team gets! Become religious at the bottom of the ninth inning! Dammit.
And if, by some chance, it winds up being the Yankees vs. Cubs in the World Series (which is by no means certain, seeing how well the Red Sox have been playing this year)....I'm going to be LYNCHED.
Thank god I don't go to school in Boston, though.
