a short detour... )
And now, to bed. Almost 6 hrs of sleep ahead of me! Woohoo!

Heard oddly familiar-soudning booming noises coming from outside. Opened a window, stuck my head out, and when I looked downtown I could see fireworks! Big, pretty fireworks! Whee! ::is reduced to the mental state of a three-year-old by fireworks:: That's so cool. Now the only question left is WHY were there fireworks on a not-so-special Tuesday...?

Oh, yeah. Rings-Thing time!

Rank the Fellowship in the order (best to worst) that you like them. Explain why.

Oh, dear. Um. Okay. I'm going by movieverse here, because my rankings would be a bit different if I went by the books, and I don't feel like writing up two lists and two sets of explanations. So: Merry, Pippin, Frodo, Sam, Boromir, Gandalf, Gimli, Aragorn, Legolas.

Technically, the hobbits are all about equal in my ranking. I have no clue why the hobbits appeal to me so much -- they just seem to most natural, lively, and interesting characters. I can sympathize with them -- they've been thrown entirely out of their element, yet they manage to adapt and cope, and Merry-Pippin even maintain a sense of humor throughout. Just, hobbitses. Yes.

Then Boromir, mainly because Sean Bean is an amazingly powerful actor who actually made me give a damn about the character. And I can identify most closely with Boromir -- he's so agonizingly human.

I don't want to explain the others, except for a brief note on why Legolas is last. Yes, he's very pretty, and he fights amazingly well, but let's face it. In movieverse, he has no character. None. In bookverse, he's a cool guy, quite lively and scornful and sarcastic at times, but in the movie? Well, he senses things a lot. Nothing against Orlando Bloom the actor, who did a splendid job with what he was given. Just...eh.

ooooh, NYPD Blue time!

5. Sipowicz kicks ass. A lot. And is otherwise grumpy and inadvertantly funny and frequently offensive.

4. Been watching for four years; old habits die hard.

3. Very cool "score" (as in music).

2. Dirty language and the occasional infamous butt-shot.

and #1. Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Henry Simmons. )
::surreptitiously wipes up drool:: Thank you.
