TTT viewing #4. Every time I see it, it gets better! Gah. May have to reassess my decision that FotR was the better film. Because how much do I love TTT? THIS MUCH! Oh man oh man. The "Oh shit!" moments! Theoden's speeches! Fierce!Merry! Evil!Frodo! The ever-so-blatant Legolas/Aragorn love! Ents! Grima! Eowyn! Gollumgollumgollum! And, dude, I wanted to give Sam a hug. Like, twelve billion separate times. Am grooving on the Sean Astin. Well, I always did, but now I'm REALLY grooving on the Sean Astin. And the Frodo/Sam, of course, of course. And the ending continues to kick my ass. And, heck, I didn't even mind Arwen so much this time.

Even my MOTHER liked TTT. She thought FotR was "okay." Too long and boring. But this one, she likes. Will wonders never cease?

Must see again. Like, NOW. Would be good.

I can't believe I'm reccing a Merry/Pippin fic. I've been losing much faith in this pairing of late. But. Hey. Wow. I found a good Merry/Pippin. "Not In Vain," by Lucy Hale. Um. Actually, this is a useless rec, because as far as I know the fic has only been posted on the MerryPippin list. Hmmm. Must find out if the author has a website... Right, anyway, it's Merry/Pippin through Boromir's POV, and shockingly enough, they actually behave like MovieCanon!MerryandPippin! Not shmoopy at all. And the Boromir perspective is fascinating and well done and wonderful, and this is one of those fics I desperately wish I had written. Right. Uh, will post link sooner or later, provided I find one...

Dammit, I don't usually associate songs with fictional characters. I don't listen to a song and think, "Hey, that is SO Domlijah," or anything, because I hate being sappy and godawful like that.

So why is every friggin' Loreena McKennitt song reminding me of Frodo/Sam right now? Bah. Especially "Dante's Prayer" and "The Old Ways." Either of these could be the soundtrack for the Grey Havens. No, I'm serious.

I must be getting sentimental in my old age...
