laptop wrath
Jan. 3rd, 2005 03:22 pmBack in Chicago. Woot.
When my laptop did its ex-parrot impression a couple of months ago, I couldn't send it in to Dell to be properly fixed because it was getting on Finals time and I needed it for the writing of essays and whatnot. So I discovered that by permanently disabling the faulty hardware that was causing the thing to die horribly, I could use the laptop with only a few minor inconveniences.
I got Sims 2 for Christmas.
The hardware disabled on my laptop is required for Sims 2 to function.
*cries*
And so I called Dell over the break, seeking info on how to send my laptop in for repair. Except they didn't believe me, and made me do a bunch of things to it that caused it to die AGAIN and then told me to re-download the broken hardware (which I think I did before, and didn't work, but they DIDN'T BELIEVE ME) and refused to give me any info on the sending-in-laptop-for-repair until I tried this.
So now I must try it.
Part of me hopes it doesn't work, for the whole I TOLD YOU SO factor, but then again, I really don't want to lose my precious laptop for three weeks.
On we go, then.
