[livejournal.com profile] yuletide deadline extended to tomorrow night, due to evil hackers. That's good. Except it confused me briefly, because I am stoopid and thought TOMORROW was the 21st, not today. So it's a good thing the deadline was extended, because I would have tried to submit my fic tomorrow and then been sad and much with the *facepalm*.

So, that "fics this year" meme thing.

Lotrips: Caught, Keeping Track, Edge of Night, Of older women and reflected glares, Local Haunt, and "Auld Lang Syne" in the Lotripping zine.
HP: Ophelia's Lilies, The Love Song of Sirius Black (or, Five Things That Never Happened to Sirius Black)
XMM: The Thing About Being a Bad Guy Is
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid: Fine

My favorite story this year (of my own): The Love Song of Sirius Black (or, Five Things That Never Happened to Sirius Black). Man, that thing was my little Sirius/Remus baby. I wanted to write a fic around T. S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" and I wanted to try a five things fic, and then I combined the two. I loved that fic.

My best story this year: Probably The Love Song of Sirius Black (or, Five Things That Never Happened to Sirius Black), again. I always tend to think of my most recent fic as my best, though.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Probably Local Haunt. I worked hard on it, and not many people (relatively) read it. It probably wasn't all that good, but AU is a new thing for me -- so close to original fiction omg -- and I put a lot of effort into it.

Most fun story: "Auld Lang Syne" (the zinefic), hands down. I cracked myself up writing that thing.

Most sexy story: Parts of "Auld Lang Syne," and parts of The Thing About Being a Bad Guy Is. The latter isn't sexy, exactly, but I have a special place in my heart for awkward!bad!sex, and I think I nailed it.

Hardest story to write: Keeping Track gave me an inordinate amount of trouble for a while. Not sure why. So did "Auld Lang Syne" (because I am crap with the writing of the pr0n).

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: The Thing About Being a Bad Guy Is brought out a side of Pyro I hadn't really expected, and Of older women and reflected glares made me look at Orlando and Miranda very different ways.

I really liked Local Haunt - v. cool and creepy! And I practically wet myself reading your zine fic.

Gods. I loved so many of these. You are just amazing. I tend to forget that about people, until I see all of someone's work listed together like that.

*gets all teary*

Woooooot!! I love these kinds of recaps, because damned if there isn't always something to be found that I'd missed out on the first time around!

Like in this case 'Local Haunt'. I just read it and I'll move over there for my feedback.
