Hmmm. I seem to be in my dorm room instead of in my physics lecture. How could this have happened? *sighs tragically and doesn't go to physics*

So. That movie quotes meme:
1. Pick one dozen movies that are ones that you have special feelings about.
2. Pick a few lines of dialogue that mean something to you.
3. As people guess the film, strike out that entry.
4. If possible, after the film is guessed, explain why that movie made the list.

1. "If this factory ever produces a shell that can actually be fired, I'll be very unhappy." Schindler's List, a.k.a. what I consider to be THE best movie of all time.
2. "How can you shoot the Devil in the back? What if you miss?"
3. "How fast can you run? As fast as a leopard. How fast are you going to run? As fast as a leopard. Then let's see you do it." Gallipoli
4. "If he'd just pay me what he's paying them to stop me robbing him, I'd stop robbing him!" Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
5. "He threatened to kill me." "Hell, kid, they don't do that, you know you're not getting to 'em." The Sting
6. "A faithful heart makes wishes come true."
7. "I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries." Monty Python & the Holy Grail
8. "In 10 minutes exactly and approximately!"
9. "Aristotle was not Belgian, the principle of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself', and the London Underground is not a political movement." A Fish Called Wanda
10. "Wait a minute. You aren't seriously suggesting that if I get through the wire... and case everything out there... and don't get picked up... to turn myself in and get thrown back in the cooler for a couple of months so you can get the information you need?" "Yes." The Great Escape
11. "What family doesn't have its ups and downs?"
12. "A man tells so many stories, that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal." Big Fish

Note how I avoided anything LotR. And there are a couple of slightly obscure ones in there...

1. Schindler's List

And okay, I'm just guessing about 12, but Big Fish? I haven't watched the movie, but judging from what I know of the plot it sounded like something appropriate.

Yay, someone else has seen Gallipoli! ...Oh. Wait. That's right. Aussie movie. Damn. I still need to find someone else in the US who has seen it.

I reckon everyone in Australia has seen it - everyone my age, anyway. They made us watch it in high school :)

12. "A man tells so many stories, that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal."

Oh. That movie. I love that movie so much. I had a conversation about it with my aunt recently. She didn't like it and I was going on about how it was so great because he finally GOT IT in the end and was telling his dad this story as he died, etc. I was getting all weepy because this movie seriously makes me bawl every single time. And she's just making fun of me. It was just like that scene in Sleepless in Seattle when they're talking about An Affair to Remember. Heh.
