My mission: to compare and contrast the use of alcohol and drunkenness as symbols/themes in Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five and Leslie Marmon Silko's Ceremony. Discussion questions: 1. Will kaydee actually be able to bullshit 5-7 pages about beer? 2. How long will it take kaydee to ferret out the alcohol references in her much-scribbled-in copy of Vonnegut? 3. Why is kaydee still procrastinating? 4. Will kaydee get any sleep tonight? 5. Does this draft actually matter at all, in the scheme of things?
