Still trying to find way to watch Oscars online. How can there not be a live feed SOMEWHERE? My TV options are zilch -- it's airing live on Sky 1, but no one I know here gets that channel (possiby because we are all broke college students), and tomorrow night, only "highlights" of the Oscars are airing on a local channel. Which, y'know, if that's the best I can get, then I'll take it, but I'd much prefer the whole shebang (well, minus stupid red carpet stuff beforehand and, of course, commercials) if possible. Also, still not sure if I can convince flatmate to let me borrow her TV for the night. She's the least friendly of all the flatmates. Need webcast, or something. Gah.

Help?

Someone on Oscarwatch asked this question, and this reply came up on the thread:

here is a link to watch Oscar ceremony live!!!

You can watch NTV 7/24 here!
NTV is a Turkish TV Channel which broadcasts Oscar ceremony every year. Of course you will have to watch it with Turkish translation, but they have good broadcasting quality. I hope it works.

If you click on the link, it won't work. Just copy the address and paste it to address bar at internet explorer than you will be able to watch NTV live with your Windows Media Player.

So, you can try that. You might want to test it out before hand.

Thanks! The quality is awesome for that one -- I just hope that the Turkish is in subtitles, not dubbing. I'll try the other ones, too. THANK YOU.

It's dubbed.

Any other suggestions? The streaming at Canada's CTV appears to be down...

It is dubbed, but if you just concentrate, you can hear the English underneath the dubbing. It's the best I could find. Other than that, I'm gonna refresh youtube.com at every commercial and hope someone out there will be posting clips.

I've just installed this Chinese IPTV programme from: http://tv.net9.org

Apparently they show it in China on CCTV, which that programme lets you watch but I'm not having any luck getting that channel to work.

oh, also this comment:

You can watch some of the channels that broadcast the oscars via certain online television programs (they provide live streams). You can download some of them here (free trials):

http://www.softpedia.com/progSearch (search for online tv)

I haven't done this before and certain channels sometimes work and sometimes don't. So it's still a guess whether or not they'll work come Oscar night.

The channel you can get on most of those programs and mostly works (for me) is TVI (Portugal). So I'm hoping it'll work on Oscar night, but who knows...

Other channels are (and I'm not sure if these channels stream live or just broadcast certain programs):

CTV (Canada)
Teleamazones (Ecuador)
TV3 (Estonia)
Rustavi 2 (Georgia)
ProSieben (Germany)
Kanal 5 (Macedonia)

Good luck!
