I'm still alive, I swear. It's just that I'm currently working three jobs, which means working seven days and 60-odd hours a week, and lately I've been valuing sleep over fandom. And what little creativity the whole general overworkedness and exhaustion hasn't drained out of me has been going to the never-to-be-completed fantasy world in my head, instead of, say,

xmmficathon fics (eep).

So, um, here, have a meme. That sharing-first-few-lines-of-WIPs meme that's been doing the rounds.

1. And when Harry wakes up the next morning, it takes him a few long, grasping moments before he remembers: it's over.

It's over.

2. The dormitory was quite peaceful until Sirius came in. This was often the case, however, so Remus spared only a brief, mournful look at his book before attending to the more urgent matter at hand, being Sirius's entrance into the room. It was probably not a particularly urgent matter in the grander scheme of things, but Sirius was a devout attention whore, nay, the king of all attention whores, who brooked neither disobedience nor disinterest amongst his followers.

3.At some point, something shifted in Sirius's brain, and making love transfigured into fucking without him noticing. He wondered when it happened, when sex with Remus became a substitute for all the things they didn't talk about, when it became a simple means to an end rather than an extension of something bigger and more wonderful.

Sirius fucked Remus into the mattress, and didn't ask where he'd been for the last three nights or how he lost his scarf or when he last ate. Remus didn't make a sound.

The rest of my WIPs haven't been touched yet in 2006, so they should probably be declared dead by now. Of course, given my dearth of ficcishness of late, lord knows if or when I'll actually manage to pull those three together, either. Maybe when I'm not working three jobs anymore.
