so many movies, so little time...

Just for the record, my second time watching it and All the President's Men is STILL one of the greatest movies of all time. And the ending kicks serious ass. I mean, think about it. This movie tells the true story of the reporters who uncovered the conspiracy behind the Watergate scandal. Anyone even remotely familiar with recent US history knows how it ended (Nixon's resignation). The director/screenwriter's challenge: to present a blatantly obvious ending in an interesting manner. I mean, I guess they could have Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford jumping around giddily whilst watching the TV broadcast of the resignation speech, but... yeah. It doesn't always work, but understatement can be a beautiful thing. Oh, yes. Too bad Woodward and Bernstein didn't spontaneously decide to jump into bed together (or, well, I suppose they might have, but it didn't make it to the screenplay) -- now THAT would have made this a perfect movie, instead of just an excellent one. Ah, well. That's what fanfic is for, right?
Does slashfic involving two characters from a movie based on a true story qualify as FPS or RPS? Hmmm. Must ponder.
I think the fact that I chose to start watching a movie at 1 AM (instead of, say, going to bed) indicates that there is something inherently wrong with me. Ah, well...
