Great Midwestern Car Ride: Day 1

Current location: somewhere (nowhere) in central Pennsylvania.

I am no longer at home. This makes me sad. I miss the sounds of traffic and ambulances outside my window.

But what I am doing is FAR more exciting: the GREAT MIDWESTERN CAR RIDE. And by "exciting," I mean, "if it gets any more thrilling than this, I might just fall asleep." Not that I have anything against the Midwestern portion of the United States. I just don't want to be driving through it.

This does not qualify as a Road Trip. A Road Trip is something you do with all your college buddies. It generally involves remarkable quantities of alcohol, sex, and other forms of diverting and amusing insanity. But THIS is a Car Ride. Because I am riding. In a car. With my CD headphones permanently attached to my ears. ::sigh::

"Highlights" of this trip will include Cleveland, Chicago, the Twin Cities, and a cabin somewhere in Michigan (don't ask). By "highlights," I mean "places where we will actually get OUT of the fucking car, thank God."

I think we all know why I brought the laptop along. At least I can look at the Fic From Hell (TM) whilst residing in cheap hotels.
