...but. Extended DVD. Kicks my ass. Very, very hard. ::dies::
Every extended scene. Excellent, wonderful, drooling now. Ian Holm rocks my world. Frodo! Has a personality! Before the Quest! He's...he's.... a lot like Elijah, actually. Want my own, personal Frodo to prance around pub tables. And my own, personal Merry and Pippin to sing drinking songs on said pub tables. And Frodo suspecting Bilbo! And interacting with Bilbo! And...and....::implodes::
And this is all before they even leave the Shire! I won't babble on too much about the other extended scenes, except to say that the conversation/argument between Aragorn/Boromir should NOT have been cut. Augh, that one was actually IMPORTANT. And Legolas snarked! Score!
I only had time to watch two shortish features, but oh, they were worth it. Fellowship of the Cast and the Day in the Life of a Hobbit. I vote that we just stick Elijah and Dom in front of a camera and let them talk for three hours. The stories! The impersonations! Mwah-hah-hah-hah!
Highlights (and I can't remember exactly which go with which of the 2 features):
-all the hobbits making fun of Sean Astin. And the helicopters.
-Dom/Billy/Elijah talking shit about each other, and BEEP the BEEP at New Line who bleeped out all the cussing.
-Dom's impersonations of everybody and anybody.
-Elijah's impersonation of the body double.
-I can't believe I'm grooving to the Bean/Orli. Somebody smack me, now.
-My thoughts on The Dom/Billy Scene (TM): THUD. Not my OTP (and yes, I have one, ashamed as I am to admit it), but way up there on my favorite pairings list, and that little scene....THUD. That is all. If you see the Fellowship featurette, you will know what I'm talking about. [Edit: to say, yeah, that one.]
-Sean Astin's adorably corny jokes.
-Very much Domlijah. Yesssss. Well, I could be reading way too much into it, but still. Makes me happy. Let me delude myself, aight? I mean, whenever Dom talked about the four hobbits -- which he did with some regularity, mind -- he listed Elijah first. Every bloody time. Even when he was talking entirely about his friendship with Billy and the shit they pulled together, when he referred to the four hobbits as a group, it was "Elijah and I and Billy and Sean..." He was talking about Billy! But still listed Elijah first! Okay, I'm definitely a rabid fangirl, I'll shut up about this.
-Just...soclosetoperfectit'sscary. Wanted more hobbitses, but so it goes.
Shit. Have much schoolwork to do, and little time to do it in. Off we go.
