I, um. BSG.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.

Unspoilery reactions: Can I just reiterate how much I love the Chief, incidentally? Because he's not all flashy like Kara (whom I also adore, of course), and not all sexy like Lee or Helo, but still. LOVE. I even loved Anders this episode, which, usually, he's a decent guy, but he doesn't do it for me, but oh my goodness ANDERS.

Too much Baltar, not enough Sharon. But that's usually the case. At least I had a genuine moment of almost-liking Baltar for a second there. Also, not enough Roslin, oddly enough, but I have a feeling we'll get some awesome Roslin moments next episode, if that cliffhanger is anything to go by.

Also? It is so, so awesome to have more of this show now. Oh, BSG, how I love thee. I literally flailed my way through that entire episode.

Okay, now I need to go to the gym, then shower and go house manage for a few hours, then straight from there to the airport to go to D.C. Catch you on the flip side.

Yes, Chief is awesomecakes in his unglamorous way, doing his unglamorous but utterly crucial job.

I liked how Anders really really SUCKED at being a Viper jock.

Raider guts on the windscreen. Great way of reminding us that the Raiders are in fact living creatures themselves, however deadly.

Curious as to whether the Raiders independently decided to break off the attack after the Anders scan (which was very well-shot). It seemed like an instantaneous decision, whereas if theyd' been acting on instructions from the Seven Dwarves, surely there would've been time passing while they argued about what decision to take.

Athena had, what, all of one line? And if Caprica Six could sense the Five's presence, wouldn't she be able to as well?

Too much Baltar, as you say. I'm actually pretty interested in the Cult!Baltar story, but it did interrupt the momentum of an otherwise fast-paced episode. They could've easily shaved off several minutes and still conveyed the key plotty bits. On the bright side, they finally gave Head!Six actual clothes.

I liked how they used Roslin this ep, conveying her essential badass-ery and how she's actually far less likely to believe in Starbuck's miraculous return than the supposedly-tough military types. The woman's cold and ruthless, but she gets shit done. And even though she is presumably leading them the wrong way, there was no sense that she was doing it out of stubbornness. I generally have a much easier time accepting Roslin's ruthless actions when they're logical, as opposed to her using her power just because she can.

And Lee is far, far more likeable when his stupid sex life is not the focus of his story. It felt like we were getting back to the Lee of S1 and early S2, who had thinky thoughts about power, responsibility, the nature of humanity, etc. And no bombastic speechifying.
