Great Midwestern Car Ride, Day 4

Current location: suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
U Chicago is a lot nicer from the inside. Once you're actually on campus, you feel completely separated from the less-than-wonderful neighborhood. So. Much better. Also, many random connections. The nice interviewer lady didn't ask me anything too bizarre, for which I am grateful.
Art Institute of Chicago has a great Chinese/Japanese/Korean art section. Small, but loverly. They also have a huge collection of Impressionists (paintings, not the artists -- heh, I'm envisioning a room full of dead artists entombed in glass cases... "And over here we have the lovely Monet, decomposing nicely as you can see..." Okay, I have a weird imagination). But. My interest in Impressionists is limited to Seurat and Monet. So it goes.
It's amazing how little I managed to accomplish in one day. Except eat. Vacations = too much food. Argh, and I can't download
msallegro's new .wav files until I get back home. Bah.
