And while I'm in a particularly fannish mood, I'd just like to give a shout-out to the ever-underappreciated Mickey Smith. Because Mickey is a sweetheart who does not deserve this shit, and I totally just teared up at the end of "Age of Steel", even though I'd already been spoiled for this particular plot development (not to mention "Doomsday" et al). Mickey, I know you will live on and have happy, happy gay sex with Jake, at least if the fanfic is to be trusted, but I shall miss you. More than I miss K9, even, I promise.

MICKEY. I absolutely love how he grew as a character through S1 and S2, and yes, definitely underappreciated. I think he might be my favorite companion, really.
