kaydeefalls: Big Bird and CJ Cregg share a bench (just another day at the office)

[livejournal.com profile] skywaterblue has an awesome picspam about the utter geek that is Barack Obama here. Snerk.

I actually feel like I got enough sleep last night, for the first time in a while. I really, really don't want to have to go into work tomorrow, unsurprisingly. Weekends need to last longer than two days. Especially given how most of MY weekends only actually last one day.

Slightly ambitious plan of the day: finish writing my Two Lines fic. If only because I'm not gonna have much time to work on it this week, and I need to make sure I leave enough time to get it to beta and back before the deadline. (Not that Two Lines deadlines are all that rigid, seriously, I almost ALWAYS post these things a month or so late. But not this time!) Weirdly, what I thought would be a fairly short post-Doomsday fic is already 19 pages long. Probably I have about five more pages to write. It's not epic by any stretch of the imagination, but still. I blame Jack Harkness, who just had to stick his pretty face in, despite the whole parallel universe business. Jeez.

Perchance I shall get a haircut today as well. It's about that time. And I told my housemate I'd bake her a carrot cake, as per her birthday request, though I'm heartily wishing she'd requested just about any other sort of baked good, because I do NOT feel like investing time in grating carrots all afternoon. I like baking because it DOESN'T feel like proper cooking to me. Once you make me grate carrots, that's proper cooking, and I disapprove. Plus now I have to buy a grater. Bah.

Have you not got a food processor or access to a friend's food processor? Most have grater attachments. You peel the carrots, cut them into manageable lengths (~2-3 inches) and fire up the food processor. Your grating will be done in seconds.

No, no food processor, which would definitely be more expensive for me to buy now than a grater. I don't think any of my housemates have one, either. And no cake pan, even, which is frustrating -- I OWN one, but it wasn't high enough priority to bring to DC with me. So now I have to buy ANOTHER one. Goddamn it.

If you're late with 2 Lines, you won't be alone. *g*
