Things which are awesome - how well you tell Jack's story, how this is just full to the brim which how much he loves these people (and how much we do, too), what they mean to him. And I love the structure, the way it moves back and forth so it's not strictly linear - quite right, too. You chose so many great moments, I particularly enjoyed seeing the bananas, bwahaha. I love the opening, especially the dirt falling onto Jack in time with the music, that's awesome, and then suddenly we're right back to the beginning. I love your lyric interpretations, it had never occurred to me how much this song suits Jack before.

And most of all, I think, you had my complete attention for nearly five minutes, which is impressive in vid terms. In conclusion, you ftw!

Wow. Your general sense of timing's very good, I certainly wouldn't have guessed this a first attempt.

Since you're openly asking about concrit, I'd say that a lot of people get put off by talky face even in smallish amounts - though it really is impressive that this held my attention for the full five minutes. That's difficult to pull off no matter how many vids you've already done.

So, finals and general craziness kept from watching this until just now, but OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING. Seriously, I thought I was over my immense, obsessive love for Jack Harkness and had drifted into merely general affection, but I think this vid brought it all back.

And the Torchwood team as well! And Rose and Martha and the Doctor! God, everyone was wonderful. The "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" montage was stunning. Adlkjfksj I don't think I even have any words any more but yeah, I really really love this.

This video is fantastic! It's got the Harkness spunkiness as well as the angst. I loved how many of the people important to Jack got screentime. The kissing and "got soul but I'm not a soldier" montages were particular high points. My only criticism is that the vid kept freezing and skipping on both imeem and the download, but that is almost certainly a problem on my end. Silly old computer.

By the way, I'm adding you to my friends list. I really enjoy your fic and now this vid too, and you seem like fun.

Okay, this is going to be the most roundabout vid feedback ever --

I first saw this vid a few weeks ago when I was just about halfway through Who S1, courtesy of an flist rec (airgiodslv, maybe?) which said you didn't need to know the canon to appreciate the vid, and I thought, "Well, I know quite a bit about Captain Harkness & co. from LJ, and I'm in the mood for vids from that universe, and that's a great song, sounds like a good watch!" And I really liked it and was pretty amazed that it was your first vid. (Though not being a vidder myself, I'm always rather starry-eyed at vids. ;D)

But. Now I have actually seen relevant parts of canon and fallen for fandom and the Torchwood crew in particular hard. And I LOVE this vid. omg. Rose! Martha! Ianto! TOSH AND OWEN. ;_; This is fantastic and I love it and I love them and, and! *waves hands around; incoherent pterodactyl noises* Wonderful! Thank you!
