You know, I really love the process of writing. Just...the discoveries you make! Like, I realized that this section of the fic I'm working on was way too talky and needed more action, so last night I ended a scene in a way I hadn't at all planned on, which then led to a completely new scene I'd never even considered writing but makes so much SENSE and adds a whole new layer of depth to the plot. And that is so cool. Not because I'm particularly brilliant, or that this fic will now be a paragon of awesomeness, but just...the simple act of creation is just so damn fantastic, you know? No matter what form it takes.
God, I am such a dork.

Date: 2009-02-03 08:56 am (UTC)I love it when the writing works like this. There are days where you can spend for-friggin'-ever staring at one stupid paragraph that just won't work right, and then there are moments like the one you describe. Moments when things happen unexpectedly, moments when the characters are talking to each other in your head without any apparent involvement by your brain except as a location for their conversation, moments when the meaning falls into place. It's really cool.

It's really the most glorious feeling ever, that uninhibited flow of words. Marvelous.
