Actually, it turns out that Kara's father being named Daniel Thrace was a bit of fanon, mostly stemming from a quite popular story written by beccatoria in which Mr Thrace's first name is Daniel (apparently Bec just made up that name, as canon hadn't given him a first name), AND he is the Finallest of the Final Five in her story. Personally, I'd forgotten that Papa Thrace's first name WASN'T canonically Daniel, so I was a bit disappointed when Bec pointed that out. But freaky all the same.
