exit 75 i'm still alive

So, yeah, still alive. I've been utter crap at responding to comments lately -- particularly for the CoE stuff, which, man, it still drains me a bit to even think about that. In happy fluffy fandom world, I've been rewatching much of Torchwood season 2, which -- man, I'd forgotten how mind-bogglingly awesome Tosh and Owen were. I'd been spoiled for the end of "Exit Wounds" since, well, before I started watching TW at all, so I deliberately distanced myself from those characters throughout my first viewing of the show (not always with much success, but there you have it). But now -- man, all I really want is to read fics set in S2. Preferably early S2, pre-zombie!Owen, but anytime that season will do. Those were good times. Yes, I'm in the fandom largely for the Jack/Ianto, but I like that pairing best when it exists within the context of the TEAM, and the team, lest we forget, was AWESOME.

Got my arse in gear about sorting out a Fic Masterlist for this journal, so, that. Not sure if anyone cares, but in case any new people stumble over this LJ looking for the fic, that should set them up. Also, wow, that makes it look like I've been INCREDIBLY unproductive recently, fic-wise, but that's mainly because all my fannish energies went to the BigBang fic for a few months there. I'm working on other fics now, at least.

In real life, I'm decidedly unemployed, though the freelance theater work keeps coming in. Taught myself how to program a light board last week, will teach myself the fancier stuff this week, and my favorite local storefront theater company offered me Stage Manager on their fall show, which I'm thrilled about. And I AM getting paid for all this stuff, so it's not like I'm in desperate straits yet. Just, y'know, not getting paid enough to live on, so, that. Something will turn up eventually. Something always does.

Saw HBP tonight. That was fun, and a pretty good flick, though possibly the most subdued action movie I've ever seen. Didn't rejuvenate my long-dormant HP fannishness, though, and I kind of want to see Star Trek again now to make up for it. Ah, well.

I was watching Sleeper the other day, the scene where they're about to use the mind probe and the whole team is in the scene together for a long time. And as much as I really do think I loved CoE (despite everything), I was really reminded how much I missed Tosh and Owen. That was generally a really good episode, and the team dynamic was really well done in it.

I started watching TW with Adrift, so I had just a few episodes before the end of S2, but that was enough to make me bawl my eyes out when Tosh and Owen died. Tosh especially. I could never figure out why we were supposed to think Gwen was so wonderful when Tosh was right there, being awesome all the time.

You keep mentioning this CoE thing, which makes me think you're talking about the Church of England. Which is so hilariously implausible that I don't even know what to do with it.
