seriously, what?

So today, a former coworker of mine (from the theater job that ended last a few weeks ago) IMed me to tell me that he's turning in his resignation tomorrow, because he's been unhappy there and they just renegotiated his contract in a seriously unfavorable way.

Then my roommate got home and told me that her boyfriend just resigned, because they tried to change his contract to cut his hours and pay.

Then I went to meet a friend for dinner, and found out that he'd just been fired.

You know, my mother always did say that bad news comes in threes.

Way to be an asshat, universe.

At least I'm ALREADY unemployed. It's not like I've got much further to fall from here.

Won't. :) Twas nice - got there at 1130 with Raisa and Ben - Emily jumped out of the car at Corcoran to meet up with Dylan who had ditched and left for Townhouse or something (the new crop doesn't like Dylan very much, they were bashing him when we got there) (and gossipywise, apparently Emily said she thinks he left to go home with some rando guy). So chatted with Jenn, Lisa, Lee, and Natalie for a bit which was nice. Lee (new Carrie) was saying how they like the interns in general, and I said how y'all had beat it into our heads that we had to be nice cause your first interns weren't. And then Chris (new Sophie) was saying how we had to teach them what rules they could bend and what they couldn't (aka, the leftover beerwine from opening gets to come back to the House). It was kind of cute. Lee was saying they're going to miss us when we leave cause they're getting used to being able to ask us things- I said it's not going to be long before they're fine. The new Kate and Angie seem to be getting on more than Kate and Angie ever did (or did when I was there), and around midnight Chris comes over to the others saying, "Guys, let's make a promise - none of us can leave, okay? We're ALL GONNA STAY. ALL of us!", which was cute and amusing. I stayed silent; I think CC will end up leaving, but I don't know. Who knows.

Okay, I have to start posting again because I forgot how my thoughts tend to spill out of my fingertips when I start typing. I apologize for the blabber on your screen.

Fun. We were all pretty content at first too, oddly enough -- it took us a month or so to get disillusioned. Hopefully this batch will have a better time of it, but they'll almost definitely lose at least one before the year is out.

Kate & Angie got along quite well for the most part -- they were VERY close at first, because of the Wisconsin thing, though that shifted over the year. By the end we were all a bit snappish with each other, but that's just eight strangers living in one house for a year, that'd happen with any group.

Dylan's a jerk. An amusing jerk, but a jerk nonetheless. I'm sure he's already trying to rain on the apprentices' parade.

If the new Conservatory girl has any issues, tell her to e-mail me. Oddly enough, my favorite conservatory teacher is in the cast of the show I'm going to be SMing, which is hilarious and awesome.

Aaand Thomas changed his mind about resigning, so never mind.

The new me got in touch with me today. I sent her a kind of epic e-mail in response. I hope it amuses her, at least, because wow, that took me a long time to write up.
