I don't believe in predestination at all in real life, but as a narrative device, it fascinates me when it's done right -- I'm not a fan of "THIS IS YOUR DESTINY" storylines so much, but the issue of discovering your future and then having to choose whether to accept it or fight it...and then, of course, how does the knowing of it affect the outcome, because if you hadn't known it, would you have made the choices along the way that led to it? Ohhhh, yeah.
I also like random coincidences shaping the pattern of things, though. I have many narrative kinks. :D
