dc, really?
Feb. 10th, 2010 11:10 amAnd the saga of the snowpocalypse continues with yet another blizzard. I am so over this shit. My day job has of course been closed all week, which means I am not getting paid, but on the other hand, means I'm actually getting about enough sleep every night, which makes for a nice change.
But today the winds are gusting up to 40+mph, snow is still falling, I can barely see out my window because of white-out conditions, the theater is closed, and yet my director is still holding rehearsal starting at 3pm. I'm a northern girl who survived Chicago winters and snowstorms in the mountains of upstate New York. I'm scared to walk the half mile to the metro right now. The sidewalks in my neighborhood haven't been even sort of shoveled, so I've had to walk along the main 4-lane road to the metro all this week, and in these conditions, I'm genuinely worried that some driver with zero visibility will run straight into me. And I don't ever, ever worry about stuff like that.
Plus, I've got two actors who have to drive in, and another who has a much longer walk to the nearest metro, and...ARGH.
I understand not wanting to miss any more rehearsal. We open for previews next week. I totally grok that. But this is NOT OKAY.
I'm planning on leaving in an hour and a half. It fucking better have calmed down out there by then.

Date: 2010-02-12 03:05 am (UTC)Damn it, I have to go to HRC tomorrow morning. I was kind of enjoying the sleep this week, even with the complications of snow.

Oh man, I feel you there. I have reached 'totally stir crazy' and yet, you know how much I want to go to the office tomorrow? Not even a BIT. Sigh. *hugs*
I am glad you were able to get sleep this week, though.
