I'm sorry, I think there's been some mistake. I thought RTD WASN'T running this show anymore.

That crack had better lead to the mother of all fucking reset buttons, is all I'm saying, because this is like -- Donna's fate at the end of "Journey's End", and it is SO NOT OKAY.

...okay, now that I've had a few minutes to calm down, I don't think this is going to be permanent. Or even if his death is permanent, we'll at least get some resolution with his character before the end. The engagement ring in the TARDIS, the mystery of the crack, etc. But still. Holy fuck, way to suddenly change the stakes with no warning whatsoever, show. This could either play out brilliantly or SUCK beyond belief; I'm going to try to stay optimistic for the moment, because Moffat has never led me astray before. But JESUS CHRIST RORY.

THIS! Rory is very much like Donna's memories: I have to believe that they're gonna be back someday, because the alternative is loss of some sanity and hope that I don't have to spare. I am normally not a fan of reset buttons, but this one has been well set up, so this could be undone without necessarily feeling like a deus ex machina.

I was NOT expecting this with Mr. "Everybody Lives" as show runner. I do respect a show that is willing to play hardball and kill characters (witness my love for Whedon), but WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE RORY? FUNNY, GORGEOUS RORY?!?!?!?

I KNOW. OH MY GOD WHAT. God, that was completely unexpected and hurt so much. I do think we'll be seeing much more than this, because I trust Moffat, but oh, man. RORY. :(

Yep, I think the very fact that a) they've allowed Amy to forget, and b) it's not the end of the season means we'll get a resolution of some kind. Moffat has Stuff up his sleeve, you mark my words. Apart from anything else, it just doesn't make any kind of sense to leave it there.

I'm sad though because I liked having Rory in the TARDIS. :(

I too have faith in Moffat, so I'm clinging to optimism. But just...gah. EPIC SADFACE.
