Okay, f-list, you win. Inception is every bit as good as you all said it was. Holy shit. That was my kind of brain porn. I feel like it's not as clever as it first appears, and might not hold up as well upon multiple viewings as some of Nolan's other films, but still. Very, very nice.

And I can see why the fandom has sprung up so quickly, because that is definitely a world I want to inhabit. There are so many possible stories to tell. Fuck yes please.

Watching the movie, I thought I was shipping Cobb/Arthur, but flipping through fanfic now, apparently I'm just really, really easy for Arthur. Arthur/Ariadne, Arthur/Eames, as long as it's got Arthur in there somewhere I am SOLD. I'm slightly disturbed by how attractive Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in that movie. It must be the waistcoats. (SERIOUSLY, NNGK. Wow.)

Also, have I ever mentioned how much I love open endings? BECAUSE I LOVE OPEN ENDINGS LIKE BURNING. Jesus christ, that shit is absolutely narrative porn for me. I don't want to know whether Nolan intended for it to be real or a dream. The not-knowing is what makes it awesome. WIN WIN WIN.

Honestly, you can enjoy the film on so many levels that it doesn't matter WHY you enjoy it. It's clever, has suit!porn, interesting characters, pretty people doing unpretty things, and did I mention the suit!porn? And a very interesting jumping point for all KINDS of fic. *g*

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is indeed hella attractive in that movie. ;) It doesn't hurt that he got to do those jaw-droppingly cool zero-gravity fight scenes.

That ending! My initial response was what the hell?! that's no way to end a movie!, but after a bit of consideration I've decided that the openness is the best part. I also don't want to know any "official" answer.
